On Kindness
These days, I keep finding myself drawn to the idea of kindness.
It's been more challenging to operate from a place of hope this year. So much of what is happening is shedding light on the dark and unfamiliar, and that makes it harder to keep fear-based thinking from taking over. The literal bright-side to this is that we can take appropriate action for the change we want and need by everything being shown to us more clearly.
One of the main things that we have in our control to make lasting change and foster more hope is choosing kindness and compassion for our fellow human beings, the plants and animals that we share this awe-inspiring planet with, and Mother Earth herself.
We may not always be able to control what happens around us, but we can always control how we react and respond if we stay mindful. So, be kind whenever you can. To your partner, your child, your parents, and siblings. To your neighbor, the grocery clerk, the postal worker, your boss, and coworkers. To yourself.
Kindness grows the more it's shared. Dispersed like wildflower seeds in the wind, it takes root in the heart and blossoms to beautify the earth. When kindness and love prevail, we will see the world change right before our eyes. 💖
